Welcome to Yorkshire Rose Farm.
We Started are farm in 2008 at teh time we were relative newcomers to the world of raising sheep, But our goal was and is still to raise sheep and their lambs in the most natural way possible with little or no use of routine injections, unless they are absolutely needed. Just because it is the industry standard it doesn't mean you need to do it. The top priority for us is the health and happiness of our animals. Read about us and our goals and beliefs in About Us
Well another winter has passed and as you can see web development is static. just too much to do :-) Sorry
This year unfortunately we are NOT planning on raising Meat birds. 2 reasons for this 1) we need to find a new processor to process the birds and the one we choose would mean mileage of 500+ miles for one batch of birds which is a bit too much. 2) I have a health issue which may involve hospital time and moving the birds every day is a bit manual and too much to expect Carole to do along with everything else.
We have again expanded our flock of laying Chickens this year and now have around 180 so hopefully more of you should be able to taste our eggs.
This April is the start of a new monthly Egg CSA we have started which allows those who want to qaurentee eggs for themselves the chance to do so.
Customers can sign up and pay for a month at a time making it a very flexible system. See us at our stall on the Northside Farmers merket in Madison on a Sunday (Farmers Market starts Second Sunday in May)
The Sheep were all sheared last week (April 29th) 87 in total so now is the time to contact Carole if you are interested in buying raw fleeces before she gets them washed
